Curbside Recycling
Waste Management in partnership with the City of Norman is proud to announce the commencement of curbside recycling! Beginning March 3, 2008, Waste Management will begin collecting recyclable materials placed in the bin provided on the same day as your scheduled trash service.

Tips
- Empty and rinse containers and remove lids (they are not recyclable).
- Extra paper/newspaper may be bagged in paper bags and placed outside the bin.
- Place container withing 3 feet of the curb prior to 7:00am on collection day.
- All unacceptable items will be left in bin with a note. Sanitation workers will go through each bin by hand and sort the material into the truck.
- Electronics scrap, fluorescent bulbs, or any other recyclable material not accepted curbside can be recycled by contacting WM Recycle America.
Facts
- 1 glass bottle - The energy saved from recycling 1 glass bottle will light a 100 watt light bulb for 4 hours.
- 1 ton of newspapers - Saves 17 trees.
- 1 aluminum can - The energy saved from recycling 1 aluminum can will operate a computer for 3 hours.
- 5 plastic soda bottles - 5 recycled plastic soda bottles will make enough fiberfill for one ski jacket.
